Nirenberg Campaign Returns to Bauhaus Studios

Advertising Legend Lionel Sosa Expects a Fourth Win for the Mayor

When you see the TV spots for Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s re-election campaign, think of Bauhaus Media Group. We are once again working with advertising guru Lionel Sosa to produce the campaign that will, hopefully give Nirenberg another term in office. The spots should begin airing in April 2021.

“It’s my pleasure to once again work with Eric Hanken and Christopher Montfort at Bauhaus Media on Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s advertising campaign,” Lionel said. “This is the 4th time we’ve worked together for Ron, all campaigns resulting in wins.”

Political campaigns have long been an important part of the business at Bauhaus. It may not be the biggest piece of the mix, but it has high significance in terms of timeliness, relevance and keeping our skills sharp. From the successful campaigns of U.S. President George W. Bush to other national campaigns (in the U.S. and other countries) and then to Mayor Ron, Bauhaus has had the rare privilege of helping set the course of history.

“Most of the political campaigns we have done in the U.S. have been with Lionel,” Eric said. “He is the master of subtlety and detail, matching every aspect of the campaign and personally directing script, production and editing in both English and Spanish.”

In the current Nirenberg campaign, the focus is on the Mayor’s leadership in managing the Covid pandemic and his jobs initiatives. It’s hard to remember more challenging times for San Antonio, and it’s been comforting to have a confident, steady hand on the wheel. The campaign is shot in a home setting with both Ron and his wife, Erika Prosper Nirenberg. Erika handles the Spanish-language spots and also joins Ron in some more casual pieces that will be used in the social media campaign.

Other key components of the mayor’s campaign and tenure include health and safety, economic recovery, affordable housing, quality of life, and transportation.

Lionel chooses to work for Mayor Ron’s re-election campaign because he truly is a fan. “It’s an honor to work for a man who lives a life of unselfish service, demonstrating integrity and vision in his leadership in a team atmosphere of positivity,” he said.

And he’s a fan of Bauhaus Media, as well. “Bauhaus is responsive, creative and fun, always delivering a top-notch product on time and on budget,” Lionel said.
