Pro Designer Creates TV Set at Bauhaus Studio

The Bauhaus Media Studio is known by many names, depending on how it is used. Often it’s called the Infinity Studio, due to the seamless walls and corners that disappear on camera. Some call it the Green Screen Studio because with a chromakey backdrop and special lighting, which allow the editor in post-production to place the subject in any setting:  outer space, the Eiffel Tower, or in an imaginary set that would cost thousands of dollars to build.

The studio also can actually be built out into a real set for video blogs, music videos, newscasts or commercials. This happened last week for a Spanish-language TV infomercial which Bauhaus is shooting this week for an Austin advertising agency.

We brought in Karen Arredondo, a professional set designer with a master of fine arts degree from the University of Memphis. Karen’s work has mostly been in set design for local theaters, so this was a new thing, though basically the same. She and a couple of helpers, including Liz Hollingsworth who has previous experience with Bauhaus in location scouting and set design, had the set ready in just a few days.
