Continuing in our work with the San Antonio Independent School District in its effort to reach a broad audience, utilizing technology, the Bauhaus Media Group facilitated a convocation for all SAISD employees, Wednesday, August 4. This relationship began during the Covid 19 pandemic, when people were unable to meet in-person. And although the pandemic appears to be ramping up again, state mandates are compelling the schools to return to in-person classes and meetings.

But, even as we hope to move on from the disease, and are able to meet in=person, technology continues to provide an effective means for large numbers of people, at various locations, to meet simultaneously. The meeting Wednesday involved 22 schools, Zooming in via laptop computer cameras and other means, to be part of a live meeting that included live speakers, and LED screen and PowerPoint presentations.

“Moving Forward Together” was the theme for the 2021 SAISD Employee Convocation. It included musical performances, rallies and skits presented by 22 different schools.

“The thing that was complicated for us was cutting to multiple sources coming in on Zoom, with PowerPoints and a live stage,” said Eric Hanken, who operated the control center for all these switches, which required two days of rehearsals and planning. But it all turned out well.
