Pandemic Solutions
Bauhaus Team is Busier than Ever During the Shutdown
When the pandemic hit in March, the Bauhaus Media team did not give much thought to shutting our doors. We realized we had an essential function to fill, and our work can’t be done from home. By going to work and doing our jobs, we are making it possible for thousands of other people to avoid crowds and stay safe while carrying on with the business and community work they need to do.
The phones began to ring and we quickly realized that new challenges were changing our business. Although many of our regular clients were postponing projects, others were seeking our help to operate in new ways in the new world.
A case in point is Mission Park Funeral Chapels, which has been a long-time client for various video projects. They were now faced with how to provide grieving families with memorable experiences when they were unable to attend funerals. They needed Bauhaus’s assistance to record and package funeral services in a respectful way. They also wanted to launch a new television program, Mission Park Cares, to offer hope and good news to the community. The 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning program on Fox 29 San Antonio also offers prayers and religious messages from representatives of all faiths. Another example is the San Antonio Livestock and Rodeo Association, which is hoping to dodge the coronavirus bullet, having held their 2020 event before the lockdown began and hoping the problems will subside in time for them to hold the 2021 livestock show and rodeo. Time will tell, but in the meantime planning must go on. The Rodeo Association, which boasts a membership of around 4,000 people from around the state, could not bring all its interested members into one room. So, with the help of Bauhaus Media, they are holding virtual meetings that anyone with a computer or cell phone can attend from anywhere in the world.
Recently, Bauhaus Media was called upon to facilitate a Christian music competition, called “You God’s Music Showcase.” The finale of this annual competition is usually attended by hundreds of enthusiastic fans. Covid 19 caused a change of plans, but it didn’t stop the show. Using HD cameras and streaming technology, the Bauhaus crew made the program available over the internet to everyone who cared to join in. The competition was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, but the audience was anywhere in the world. The musical performances are still available in final edit form at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lVGtB8UjvU
These are just a few prominent examples. Many are smaller, though no less important to their audiences. One is even top secret for a U.S. government contractor. But the jobs keep rolling in, and the Bauhaus Media team is ready to meet the challenges which seem to change day-to-day. One thing is constant, and that is that business must go on and people have to communicate and work together. For all the varied needs, Bauhaus Media is finding technological solutions.
